Questions buyers ask
Can the Althahabi design be made without the gold trim, or in another seat color?
Gold accents on this design are optional, so the backrest bars and the stepped base lines can be left off. The seats can also move to another shade from the fabric range while the layout stays as drawn for your walls.

Does the Althahabi majlis need a wooden frame underneath?
A frame is optional here. Most designs, Althahabi included, can be sewn as all-foam seating or given MDF and wood bases under the foam seats, and the build is chosen when your layout is drawn.

Where does the gold sit in the Althahabi photos?
- Taupe, cream or ivory backrests in channel stitching, crossed by polished gold bars
- Seat cushions on a mocha velvet base framed by stepped gold lines
- Greek-key jacquard pillows, bolsters and armrest covers, some with gold fringe
- Wood-grain nesting tables with gold lattice inlay and gold legs
- White festoon blinds under taupe swags or stepped valances
Althahabi means “the golden” in Arabic, so I expected a room dipped in it, and the photos show the opposite. The only woven pattern on the seating is the Greek key on pillows and armrest covers, a meander often read as a line without end, and the gold bars on backrests and base echo its right angles. Similar one-motif rooms sit among our majlis design ideas.
How high, deep and long can Althahabi seats be made?
Althahabi seats are built all-foam or on an MDF and wood base, which the photos cannot show, and the build decides how low they go. Heights are 4 in (10 cm), 8 in (20 cm), 12 in (30 cm) or 16 in (40 cm), the last about the height of a regular sofa. A wooden-base version is built at 14.5 in (37 cm) to 16 in (40 cm) depending on the model and is not made lower.
Seats are about 29.5 in (75 cm) deep, and none runs longer than about 75 in (190 cm), so a long wall is split into equal pieces and the gold bars repeat in one steady rhythm.
How do three rooms change the same Althahabi seating?
| Detail | Room with a marble-print ceiling | Room with amber cove lighting | Long room with a ceiling medallion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seating | Taupe | Cream | Ivory |
| Table tops | Black marble-look | White marble-look | Gold glass |
| Valance | Taupe swags | Stepped, mocha and cream | Stepped, mocha and white |
| Rug border | Greek-key bands | Brown arabesque | Arabesque runner |
The amber-lit room shows how much the bulbs decide. Under warm bulbs ivory turns to honey, and under cool ones it drifts toward gray. Its cream seats look almost caramel there, so I would compare taupe and ivory after dark, under your own bulbs.
Which three things start an Althahabi order?
- A photo of your room and the length of every wall you want seated
- Details to keep from these photos: Greek-key pillows, gold bars, mocha base
- Add-ons to quote, such as the lattice tables or stepped valances, and the seat height
Custom orders start with a layout plan for your approval. The quote covers seats, backrests, armrests and pillows, while the tables, rugs and curtains shown are add-ons. Custom orders are photographed and filmed for your approval before they ship.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Greek-key pillows on the Althahabi design be swapped for another pattern?
Pillows, bolsters and armrest covers can take any color or pattern from the fabric range, so the Greek key can give way to another jacquard or to plain velvet. Send a photo of the pattern you have in mind.
Are the festoon blinds and stepped valances in these rooms made to order too?
Every curtain is cut to the window it hangs in, either to the floor or to backrest height, and curtains are only supplied alongside a majlis order. Ask for this valance style with your seating.
Can the Althahabi seating be made closer to the floor?
Floor-level versions of the Althahabi look are made as all-foam seating, with 8 in (20 cm) the recommended height and 4 in (10 cm) possible, keeping the gold bars and Greek-key pillows. A wooden-base build stays at 14.5 in (37 cm) to 16 in (40 cm) depending on the model.
