Before you order
Order a sample box before you choose
Majlis fabric samples settle the one question a screen cannot: how a velvet or linen-look shade behaves on your own walls, in your own daylight and lamplight. You name the fabrics you are weighing by their color card numbers, the design team posts the samples, and the code you settle on goes straight into your order.
Your request
The request form opens once our privacy notice is published.
What happens between your request and the samples reaching you?
Samples help most once a model is on the shortlist and the walls are measured; if either is still open, start with our guides to planning a majlis, since a swatch means more when you know which seats it will cover.
- Name the model or color you are deciding on, so the samples answer a real choice.
- Add the color card numbers of the fabrics you are weighing; the numbered card also covers solid shades not yet photographed on a finished set.
- Choose your delivery country, and if we do not deliver there, the form says so before anything is sent.
- Say how the team should reach you and in which language, then send the request.
- The design team checks the numbers against the color card and confirms what is going into your box.
- When the box arrives, compare the swatches in the room where the majlis will stand, then reply with your chosen code or ask for a video call.

Questions buyers ask
2 questions
Can you mail me fabric and foam samples before I order a majlis?
Samples can be posted to you before you order anything. Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order. Tell the design team which models and shades you have in mind, two or three beiges and a cream for instance, and hold the swatches against your walls in daylight. Quote the swatch number you settle on when you order.
Can I see the actual fabric in daylight, on video or in person, before I decide?
Real fabric can be seen before you decide in three ways: a daylight video of the exact swatches, a live video call with the rolls held up to a window, or samples posted to your home. Ask for each catalog code to stay in shot so every swatch can be named. We don't have a showroom; ask us for a sample box or a video call.
What can a swatch show you that a screen leaves open?
| What you check | How to check it at home | What it tells you about your room |
|---|---|---|
| Shade | Hold the swatch on the wall at midday, then under evening lamps | Whether the color survives the light the room is used in |
| Surface | Run a hand across velvet, chenille and linen-look side by side | Which finish you want under your arms every evening |
| Dark tones | Lay navy and charcoal swatches next to something truly black | Patterned ranges are not always woven in true black; a deep navy or charcoal is often closest |
| Two-tone sets | Pair a seat color with a backrest or piping color from the card | Whether the pair still reads well across a full run of seats |
| Rug beside the seats | Set the fabric next to the rug or floor it will sit on | Stock rugs run from 31.5 × 79 in (80 × 200 cm) to 79 × 118 in (200 × 300 cm), not every size in every design |

Take a west-facing room and a shortlist of two velvet beiges and one linen-look cream. At noon all three can look close; under warm bulbs after sunset, one beige can drift toward yellow and the cream toward gray. Quote the swatch that still sits right against your wall at night, because a single seat of 75 × 27.5 in (190 × 70 cm) spreads that shade far wider than any sample.

3 questions
What do the samples settle before you order?
- One fabric code for every surface: seats, backrests and any piping or second color.
- A shade checked in the room itself, both in daylight and under lamps.
- A clear indoor or outdoor choice, since the two fabric ranges are separate.
- A fabric that stays inside one collection, because a linen set stays linen throughout.
- A code the design team confirms with you again before production.
- A short list of anything a swatch could not show you, ready for a video call.
What throws a swatch comparison off at home?
- Judging a swatch against a phone screen, whose settings shift every shade.
- Checking only by daylight when the room is mostly used after dark.
- Asking for the whole range instead of the few shades still in the running.
- Comparing swatches on a white table rather than against your own wall, floor and curtains.
- Matching a swatch to an old photo of a finished set that was taken in different light.
- Letting swatches get mixed up before their numbers are written down.
Where does a swatch stop being enough?
A swatch answers color and feel, not size. How many seats each wall takes, where the corners fall and how a repeat lines up between two cushions are worked out by the design team from your measurements. Our note on the factors behind a majlis quote covers what else shapes a quote, from total seating length and seat height to build and backrest style.
To see finished seating rather than a cut of cloth, ask the design team for a video call. Once the fabric is settled, the Arabic majlis sets overview shows how pieces, thickness and layouts fit together.
Frequently asked questions

What's in the fabric sample box, and can I choose which colors go in it?
Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order. List the shades you are torn between by their color card numbers, two beiges and a cream in velvet and linen-look for example, and the design team tells you which of them can go in.
Where can I see all your fabric colors, including velvet, linen and outdoor fabrics, before I choose?
Each model shows its main colorways online, and the full numbered color card, covering velvet, linen-look, patterned and outdoor fabrics, is shared as a PDF on request. Most models can be made in any color from that card, while outdoor fabric is a smaller, mostly plain range.
I've never sat on a floor majlis. Can I order one small piece first to test the comfort?
A single 75 × 27.5 in (190 × 70 cm) floor seat makes a sensible trial before a full majlis. Order it in the fabric and thickness planned for the room and use it for a few weeks. A 4 in (10 cm) seat sits close to the floor, while 8 in (20 cm) or more is easier to rise from.
