What does a written majlis quote show, line by line?
A written quote lists each piece with its size, the layout drawing, the seat height in both units, the build and the fabric code. Our team prepares it once it knows your walls and the design you chose. I read a quote from the piece count up, because a wrong count means a wrong total. - How much does a majlis cost before the room is measured?
- A custom majlis has no fixed cost until its length is known, because each one is built to your walls. A photo might show 236 in (600 cm) of seating while your room needs 394 in (1000 cm), and corners, seat height and build move the total again.
- Is 157 × 118 in (400 × 300 cm) on a quote the room area or the seating length?
- The numbers on a majlis quote are wall lengths of seating, added together. An entry of 157 × 118 in (400 × 300 cm) therefore means about 276 in (700 cm) of seating along two walls with one corner. A U is written side, back, side, and seat height appears as a separate figure, such as 4 in (10 cm) or 8 in (20 cm).
- Why do two majlis designs of the same size come out at different totals?
- Color is rarely the reason, because colors within one model cost the same. The difference comes from construction: backrest style, a wooden base, seat height, total seating length and the amount of fabric detailing. Classic floor sofa sets sit at the lower end, made-to-measure majlis in the middle and wood-framed designs at the top.
What should a quote request include so the first figure holds?
- Save a photo, link or model name of the design you like.
- Measure each wall you want seated, from corner to corner.
- Mark doors, windows, radiators and floor AC units on a sketch or room photo.
- Pick a seat height from 4 in (10 cm), 8 in (20 cm), 12 in (30 cm) and 16 in (40 cm), or name two to compare.
- Say whether you want full foam, a wooden base, or both builds quoted side by side.
- List any extras for the same quote: rug, ottoman, tables or curtains.
- Send everything in one message and ask for an itemized quote with a layout drawing.

Which choices raise or lower a majlis total?
Seven choices do most of the work, and each one can be quoted both ways on the same sheet. I ask for the two versions a family is unsure about, never all seven.

How is the running length added up for an L or a U?
An L or U is quoted on the combined length of every wall it covers, corner pieces included. Picture a family room seated on walls of 138 in (350 cm), 189 in (480 cm) and 138 in (350 cm). The quote reads it as about 465 in (1180 cm) of U-shaped seating in the chosen model and height.
Seat the same room on two walls and the run falls to about 327 in (830 cm). The total drops with it, although the room has not changed. Inside that length, no seat piece is longer than 75 in (190 cm), and at each corner one run stops about one seat depth short so the other can fill it.
When does a ready-size floor sofa set beat a made-to-measure majlis?
Ready-size sets have fixed pieces, so each layout and thickness has one figure. A made-to-measure majlis is cut to every wall, so it fits rooms that standard pieces do not.

How do you compare two majlis quotes line by line?
A lower figure usually differs in one of these lines. Ask each maker for the same lines before comparing totals.

Which request mistakes send a majlis quote back for changes?
- Sending the floor area of the room instead of the length of each seated wall.
- Leaving the seat height out, so the quote assumes one you did not choose.
- Changing the model or the height after the quote and expecting the same total.
- Approving the figure without checking the layout drawing against the room.
- Letting an L become a U, or a plan flip left to right, without checking which wall is which.
Which changes bring a majlis total down without changing the room?
- A lower seat, such as 8 in (20 cm) or 4 in (10 cm) instead of 16 in (40 cm), which makes the biggest single difference.
- A full-foam build in the same fabric instead of a wooden base.
- One wall fewer, or a shorter run on the longest wall.

A custom majlis quote covers the seating: seat cushions with foam, backrests, armrests, matching pillows and all covers, plus the base on wooden models. Tables, rugs and curtains are made to match but quoted on separate lines, so any of them can be dropped later.

A room that needs more length adds to the total, while a small custom layout can come out lower than a standard set.
