The Arabic Star Royal Palace Majlis is a black velvet palace majlis on a gold band of interlocking ovals, planned around the walls of your room with round or straight armrests edged in gold fringe. Along the base, the oval lattice follows every seat and turns each corner with it, and X-strap pillows carry the gold up onto the black velvet.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

How high will you sit?

If someone at home finds low seats hard to get up from, choose 12 in (30 cm) or the 16 in (40 cm) sofa-height option; 4 in (10 cm) to 8 in (20 cm) suits a classic floor-style room or a prayer room.

How high can your majlis seating go? Can it sit like a regular sofa instead of low on the floor?

The highest full-foam majlis sits about 16 in (40 cm) from floor to seat top, close to a regular chair, with lower options at 12 in (30 cm), 8 in (20 cm) and 4 in (10 cm). Models on a wooden base sit at about 14.5 in (37 cm) to 16 in (40 cm), depending on the model.

Does a majlis set come with the rug, ottoman table and floor pillows, or are those extra?

A custom-measured majlis quote usually covers the seating only: seats, backrests, armrest bolsters and pillows. Rugs, ottomans, coffee table sets and curtains are optional add-ons quoted separately, so check your quote to see exactly which pieces are included.

How does the oval lattice follow your walls and corners?

Measure each seating wall from corner to corner, skip the doorways and send a sketch with photos. A 146 in (370 cm) wall becomes two pieces of about 73 in (185 cm), because no piece runs past 75 in (190 cm).

In the rooms shown, the gold band follows every seat and turns each corner with it. Custom orders start with a layout plan for your approval. Seats are about 29.5 in (75 cm) deep, or 19.5 in (50 cm) to 23.5 in (60 cm) for a narrow room on request.

Height is the first decision I would make here. At 16 in (40 cm) the seat matches a regular living-room sofa, which helps anyone who finds a low seat hard to leave. Floor-style rooms and prayer corners usually stay at 4 in (10 cm) or 8 in (20 cm).

A design photographed on a frame can also be made as all-foam floor seating, usually at 8 in (20 cm). Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build.

Can the black velvet and gold be swapped for other colors?

The seats are plain black velvet. Patterned fabrics are not always woven in true black, so a patterned version would come in a very dark navy or charcoal. Most models can be made in any color from our range.

Solid colors are picked by number from the color card, in velvet, chenille or a linen-look weave. Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order. Baroque and lattice bases like this one are gathered under palace-style majlis designs.

Can the Black Velvet Palace Majlis be made as an L instead of a U?

The design is not tied to one shape. It is made as an L, a U or a long run around a hall, since every seat piece is planned for your walls and each corner gets its own seat.

Can the gold lattice be left off the palace majlis?

Gold accents are optional, so the black velvet seating can also sit on a plain base. Tell the team which details to keep, such as the X-strap pillows, and the layout plan shows the result first.

Can more palace majlis pieces be added after delivery?

Single seats, backrests, armrests and covers can be ordered any time, for example when the set moves to a longer room. Keep your layout drawing at hand so new pieces follow the same measurements.
