Premium Arabic Jalsah: Ivory Channel-Tufted Seats on Walnut and Gold

Ivory backrests stitched in deep horizontal channels rest over a walnut-tone plinth faced with a gold star-and-quatrefoil lattice on the Premium Arabic Jalsah, a channel-tufted majlis on a gold lattice base for two, three or four walls. Each backrest stands 16 in (40 cm) tall and 4 in (10 cm) thick over seats about 29.5 in (75 cm) deep.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

Questions buyers ask

Can I see the sofas and the workshop live on a video call before I pay?

A video call can show fabric and finished seating before an order is confirmed. Prepare the model reference and the details you want to inspect, including the backrest profile and cover finish. Compare those visible details with the written specification; the call does not replace the measured layout drawing.

Can I buy a majlis table set or a single center table on its own, without the seating?

Table sets are normally made as part of a majlis order, but a table set or a single center table can also be produced on request. A typical set pairs one large center table with four smaller tables, and an identical set can be reproduced later for a second room. Point to the table you liked in a photo or video to get a quote.

How high will you sit?

If someone at home finds low seats hard to get up from, choose 12 in (30 cm) or the 16 in (40 cm) sofa-height option; 4 in (10 cm) to 8 in (20 cm) suits a classic floor-style room or a prayer room.

Most raised majlis designs can also be made at 8 in (20 cm), keeping the same look at half the height.

The seat foam is firm to medium-firm; softer or firmer filling can be requested.

What does a quote cover?

A custom majlis quote covers seat cushions, backrests, two styles of armrest and matching pillows, all with covers and filling; tables, rugs and curtains are separate add-ons.

Each backrest covers about half a seat, so a full-length seat carries two. Every piece arrives with its cover and filling. The nesting tables, rug and curtains are quoted on their own. This set is one of our made-to-order Yemeni seating designs.

What changes if you skip the walnut-tone base and go all foam?

The plinth is what makes this set look built in. I would keep it for a formal reception room. Wooden-base builds are not made lower than about 14.5 in (37 cm), so a floor-level room calls for the all-foam version.

On the wooden base, storage under the seats is possible, and cut-outs can be left for floor vents or sockets. Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build.

How is a long three- or four-wall room measured for this set?

Run the tape across each seated wall at floor level, from one corner to the other. Mark doors, vents and sockets with their distance from the nearest corner. No seat piece is longer than about 75 in (190 cm), so long walls are split into equal pieces.

Ivory, cream or another shade: how is the fabric chosen?

The set in the photos is ivory, with black and white accent pillows. The same design can be cut in chenille, velvet or a weave with a linen look, in any shade from the color card. Our guide to the fabric families we use compares them, and white and ivory majlis designs shows lighter rooms side by side.

Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order.

What is worth checking when the boxes arrive?

Open the vacuum bags within about a week of delivery.
Lay the numbered pieces out in the order shown on your drawing.
Give the cushions about a day to recover their full shape before you judge them.

Custom orders are photographed and filmed for your approval before they ship. In those photos I would look first at the channel lines, which should run level from one backrest to the next.

Can the ivory jalsah be made in a darker color for a busy family room?

The channel backrests and the lattice plinth stay the same while the fabric changes, so gray, navy or another shade from the color card works. Gold accents stay or go as you prefer, and the drawing shows the combination before production.

Are the backrests sewn to the seats on the ivory set?

The backrests are separate pieces, not sewn to the seats. That makes the set easier to move, but the seat lengths were cut for the first room, so send new wall lengths before you rearrange it.

How many guests can this ivory majlis seat?

Plan on two to three adults for every 75 in (190 cm) of seat. A U with about 224 in (570 cm) of seating holds around eight to nine, and the drawing gives the count for your own walls.
