Handmade in Istanbul
Lozenge lines run across the Atlas Diamond Moroccan floor couch, a single low seat 27.5 in (70 cm) deep and 6 in (15 cm) thick in beige, black or navy blue. Four lengths are made, from 47 in (120 cm) to 83 in (210 cm), and the back is either a row of pillows or one long round bolster.
The full piece list with sizes is below.
Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.
Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.
Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.
Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.
Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.
Photographed in black and beige.

Two couches can turn a corner if the second one starts about 27.5 in (70 cm) out from the corner wall, one seat depth, because the first couch already fills the angle. Each round bolster stays the length of its own couch, so choose the second length to fit the wall that remains after that 27.5 in (70 cm).
From the atelier
Every Atlas Diamond length comes with the same 6 in (15 cm) seat cushion, 27.5 in (70 cm) deep, whether you choose the pillow back or the bolster back. A thicker seat is not part of this line; for a higher seat, the floor sofa sets can be made up to 16 in (40 cm) thick.
From the atelier
Every set arrives with its covers and foam inserts, ready to use, with no stuffing or assembly.

The seat foam is firm to medium-firm; softer or firmer filling can be requested.

Made-to-order sets take a little longer than ready ones — ask us for the current timing.
| Couch length | Seat cushion | Pillow back | Bolster back |
|---|---|---|---|
| 47 in (120 cm) | 47 × 27.5 × 6 in (120 × 70 × 15 cm) | 2 back pillows of 23.5 × 16 in (60 × 40 cm) | 1 round bolster of 47 × 8 in (120 × 20 cm) |
| 59 in (150 cm) | 59 × 27.5 × 6 in (150 × 70 × 15 cm) | 2 back pillows of 29.5 × 16 in (75 × 40 cm) | 1 round bolster of 59 × 8 in (150 × 20 cm) |
| 71 in (180 cm) | 71 × 27.5 × 6 in (180 × 70 × 15 cm) | 2 or 3 back pillows of 23.5 × 16 in (60 × 40 cm) | 1 round bolster of 71 × 8 in (180 × 20 cm) |
| 83 in (210 cm) | 83 × 27.5 × 6 in (210 × 70 × 15 cm) | 2 or 3 back pillows of 27.5 × 16 in (70 × 40 cm) | 1 round bolster of 83 × 8 in (210 × 20 cm) |
The pillow back also brings one or two lumbar pillows of 19.5 × 12 in (50 × 30 cm), and the bolster back adds one or two square pillows. On the two longer lengths, your quote confirms the exact pillow count. The covers are made by hand in Morocco and travel separately from their foam inserts, which go into the covers once the parcels arrive. All four Atlas patterns share these lengths, and our Moroccan floor seating collection shows them side by side.
A round bolster runs the full length of the couch, so everyone leans on one line, the way cushions run along the walls of a salon marocain, the reception room many Moroccan homes keep for guests. Separate pillows let each person set their own angle, and one can always slide to the floor for a child.
I notice that a bolster invites people to turn sideways and talk, while pillows keep everyone facing the room. Either way, the back needs the wall behind it to lean on.
At 6 in (15 cm), the Atlas Diamond sits a little higher than a classic 4 in (10 cm) floor cushion and well below a 16 in (40 cm) seat, which is about the height of a regular sofa. The couch is made at this one height, 27.5 in (70 cm) deep. The cushion feels firm rather than plush. Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build.
If you are still choosing between styles, our comparison of diwan, floor sofa and Moroccan seating sets the three side by side.
On black and on navy blue, the diamond lines are white and read clearly from across the room. Beige keeps the couch light and quiet, and the bolster version in beige has a softer, shaggier pile. The weave borrows the look of Beni Ourain-style rugs, where lozenge grids are a familiar figure. Ask us for daylight photos of the color you like before you decide.
A single Atlas couch is a small piece of that room, one wall rather than three. Before you choose lengths, dear reader, read our guide to measuring a room for floor seating, so each couch is matched to a real wall.
It is made in the four set lengths, 47 in (120 cm), 59 in (150 cm), 71 in (180 cm) and 83 in (210 cm), rather than cut to the wall. For a wall between sizes, combine two couches or leave a short gap at one end for a side table or plant.
The covers are handmade in Morocco and ship on their own, apart from the foam inserts. When both parcels are in, slide each insert into its cover and close it. Keep the packaging until every piece has arrived.
The bolster back is made to match the couch, from 47 × 8 in (120 × 20 cm) on the shortest length to 83 × 8 in (210 × 20 cm) on the longest. It comes with one or two square pillows, and the pillow back can be chosen instead if you prefer separate cushions.
