Atlas Stripe Moroccan-Style Floor Couch in Cotton or Wool

The Atlas Stripe Moroccan floor couch is a single low seat with a 6 in (15 cm) foam cushion, 27.5 in (70 cm) deep, inside a woven striped cover with cord stitching along the seams. Black, navy blue and mustard yellow are the three colors, and the black colorway comes in a flat weave or a shaggier pile.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

What sizes does the Moroccan floor sofa come in, and which pieces come with each length?

Four lengths are made, 47 in (120 cm), 59 in (150 cm), 71 in (180 cm) and 83 in (210 cm), and the size always means length: every couch is 27.5 in (70 cm) deep on a 6 in (15 cm) seat cushion. The two shorter lengths bring two back pillows and one lumbar pillow, the two longer ones three back pillows and two lumbar pillows. No rug is included.

How do the Atlas Stripe foam inserts arrive, and when is the couch ready to use?

The foam inserts come pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed, in a separate parcel from the striped covers. Open the bags within about a week of delivery and give the foam about a day to regain its full shape, then fit the covers.

Each striped cover is handmade in Morocco and reaches you apart from the foam, so the inserts go in once both parcels have arrived. Stripes are one of four covers in our Moroccan-style floor seating range, and all four keep the same lengths and depth.

Flat weave or shaggy weave: which Atlas Stripe cover for which room?

In the black colorway, black lines cross a cream ground, either in a flat weave or in a shaggier pile. Navy blue and mustard yellow carry white lines and white cord stitching along the seams. Mustard brings warmth to a plain wall, and navy settles easily beside wood and brass.

For the deepest pile in the range, the Atlas Shag Wool couch keeps the same lengths with a long, loose cover.

How do Atlas Stripe couches line a long wall or turn a corner?

Couches are independent pieces, so lengths can be combined. A 134 in (340 cm) wall takes a 47 in (120 cm) and a 83 in (210 cm) end to end. Two couches can meet at a corner if the second one starts about 27.5 in (70 cm) out, past the first seat. Keep each couch on a solid wall, since its pillows rest against it.

How firm is a 6 in (15 cm) stripe seat, and can it sit higher?

Under the stripes sits 6 in (15 cm) of foam, firm to medium-firm. Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build. None of the four lengths is made higher than that.

When do many families set up a low Moroccan-style corner?

In many homes, low seating comes out before Ramadan, when evenings stretch late and the house fills with visitors, and again before the summer wedding season. I picture a stripe couch under a window as the place where the tea tray lands and the last conversation of the night happens.

Can I mix two Atlas Stripe colors along one wall?

Each couch is its own piece with its own cover, so a navy blue couch can sit beside a mustard yellow one. Mixing tends to look planned when the two lengths differ, for example a 83 in (210 cm) beside a 47 in (120 cm).

How much wall do two Atlas Stripe couches cover?

Placed end to end, two 83 in (210 cm) couches cover about 165 in (420 cm), and two 47 in (120 cm) couches about 94 in (240 cm). A small gap at each end of the wall helps them sit straight.

Is the Atlas Stripe as deep as a floor sofa set?

The couch is 27.5 in (70 cm) deep, about the same as a standard floor sofa seat. The difference is height: its 6 in (15 cm) cushion comes in one fixed thickness, while floor sofa sets choose between 4 in (10 cm) and 16 in (40 cm).
