Saray sedir bench majlis seating places framed-medallion cushions on wooden benches 75 in (190 cm) long, 27.5 in (70 cm) deep and about 16 in (40 cm) high with the seat cushion on, close to the seat of a regular sofa. One, two or three benches make a single, L-shaped or U-shaped set, and the full U counts 16 pieces.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

How many people can sit on one Saray bench?

One 75 in (190 cm) bench seats about three adults, and a U of three benches seats about six in comfort, up to nine on a busy evening.

Can a Saray bench be made shorter for a narrow wall?

The wooden frames come in fixed lengths of about 47 in (120 cm), 59 in (150 cm), 71 in (180 cm) and 75 in (190 cm), so a narrow wall takes one of the shorter frames rather than a cut-down bench. The design team picks the mix from your wall lengths.

What does a quote cover?

A custom majlis quote covers seat cushions, backrests, two styles of armrest and matching pillows, all with covers and filling; tables, rugs and curtains are separate add-ons.

Counted together, a single comes to 6 or 7 pieces, an L to 11 and a U to 16. The L and U totals each include one matching rug, and a single has one in some versions. Afghan gul and kilim weaves share the bench in our wooden bench Arabic majlis range.

How many 75 in (190 cm) benches fit along your walls?

Plan the room in whole benches: two frames of 75 in (190 cm) fill most of a 157 in (400 cm) wall. I always look at the shortest seating wall first, since it sets the bench count.

In an L, one bench runs into the corner and the next starts about 27.5 in (70 cm) out from it. A standard L needs about 75 in (190 cm) on one wall and 102 in (260 cm) on the other, and a U of three benches about 130 in (330 cm) along the back.

Is a 16 in (40 cm) bench seat easier on the knees than floor seating?

Classic floor seating sits 4 in (10 cm) to 8 in (20 cm) off the floor, while wooden-base seating is built at about 14.5 in (37 cm) to 16 in (40 cm) and not lower. That makes the bench the easier choice for older relatives who find low seats hard to leave.

The seat feels firmer than our all-foam sets, because the cushion rests on wood. Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build. Both builds are set side by side in full-foam or wooden-base majlis.

Which Saray colorway suits the rug you already have?

Saray comes in Blue, Brown, Gray, Green, Maroon, Red, Royal Blue, Turquoise and Mustard Yellow. The heavy kilim-style weave replaces regular upholstery fabric, and the set is made for indoor rooms.

The name means palace in Turkish. It nods to the long cushioned benches of Ottoman reception rooms, and the story behind the Saray medallion follows the motif back to Anatolian village rugs. Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order.

Which parts of a Saray bench order can change?

Can Saray benches stand in the middle of a room?

Each cushion backrest has to rest on a wall or a similar firm surface. Seating that has to stand free works better as a model with a wooden base and a wooden backrest, or we can add metal back supports on request.

Why does a U-shaped Saray bench set count 16 pieces?

A U uses three benches, each with its own seat cushion, plus six backrests, three armrest bolsters and a matching rug: 3, 3, 6, 3 and 1 make 16.

Can a single Saray bench grow into an L later?

A second bench, with its own seat cushion, backrests and armrests, can be ordered later to turn a single into an L. Ask us first so the frame length and the weave match the bench you already have.
