Milas Single Floor Sofa Set in Aegean Village-Rug Colors

Meant for a single wall, the Milas single floor sofa set is built around one 75 × 27.5 in (190 × 70 cm) seat cushion, backed by two backrests and closed at each end by an armrest bolster, all in red or maroon kilim-style upholstery. Bought as seating only it counts five pieces, while the full set reaches 10 by adding an ottoman, a matching rug and three floor pillows.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

What size is one standard floor seating cushion, and is it square or rectangular?

The standard floor seating cushion is a long rectangle of 75 × 27.5 × 4 in (190 × 70 × 10 cm), also made 8 in (20 cm), 12 in (30 cm) or 16 in (40 cm) thick. Longer walls are split into equal pieces of up to 75 in (190 cm).

Do you sell a single straight floor sofa for one wall instead of an L or U set?

Single straight floor sofas are available on their own for one wall, built from a 75 × 27.5 in (190 × 70 cm) seat cushion with backrests and armrests. Custom lengths are possible, and half-size pieces of about 37.5 in (95 cm) help fill a wall exactly. Seat height goes from 4 in (10 cm) up to 16 in (40 cm).

Stacked cushions are separate pieces, not sewn together, so a top layer can come off and serve as an extra floor mattress for guests.

There is no frame and no spring anywhere in the set. Each piece is shaped foam sewn into its own cover, each cover closes with a zipper, and the foam is already inside when the boxes arrive. Before settling on Milas, compare it with the other woven floor sofa designs in kilim-style patterns.

Will the Milas single fill your wall or leave a gap?

The seat runs 75 in (190 cm) along the wall and 27.5 in (70 cm) out into the room. A slightly longer wall is fine: the foam absorbs an error of up to about 2 in (5 cm), and a short gap at the end reads as breathing room. I would rather see that gap than a seat squeezed against a door frame.

A wall longer than one seat takes two, since no cushion is made past 75 in (190 cm). Not every pattern is woven into half-length pieces, so ask about Milas before you plan around one.

Can a Milas single set later become one side of an L?

A second wall needs another seat cushion with its backrests, plus a corner backrest where the runs meet. Single pieces in the same weave can follow later. The Milas L-shaped set shows what the finished corner looks like.

Which thickness should the Milas single seat be?

4 in (10 cm): firm and close to the floor, the classic floor-seating height.
8 in (20 cm): a single block, or a stacked pair of 4 in (10 cm) layers that brings the full set to 11 pieces.
12 in (30 cm): easier to stand up from, best as one block rather than a stack.
16 in (40 cm): sofa height, the easiest of the four to rise from.

For a seat used every evening, my vote goes to 8 in (20 cm) in one block, because it stays neat and keeps the low look. Made-to-order sets take a little longer than ready ones — ask us for the current timing. The seat sits firm to medium-firm and supports you rather than sinking, and the filling can be made softer or firmer on request. Where do the hooked lozenges on the Milas covers come from?

Milas covers borrow the framed panels and stepped lozenge medallions of village rugs from Milas, a district on Türkiye's southwestern Aegean coast. On the seat they sit on a red or maroon ground, picked out in orange, teal and ivory.

The weave is made for living rooms rather than terraces, and a daylight video helps when the two reds look alike on screen.

Before ordering the Milas single, which two things should you confirm?

Is there at least 75 in (190 cm) of clear wall between the door frame and the corner?
Which thickness, and if it is 8 in (20 cm), one block or two layers?

Once the boxes are in, unwrap the cushions within the week and let the foam rise for a day before anyone sits on it. Then unzip one backrest and check that the foam reaches right into the corners of its cover.

Can the Milas single armrests move along the seat?

The armrest bolsters are loose pieces rather than sewn to the seat, so they can sit at both ends or move inward, for example as a divider between two people. The backrests are separate too.

Can a Milas single seat be raised after it arrives?

An extra layer can go on top later: 4 in (10 cm) turns a 8 in (20 cm) seat into 12 in (30 cm), and 8 in (20 cm) turns it into 16 in (40 cm), which helps a relative who finds a low seat hard to leave.

Can the Milas single be packed flat again for a move?

Not at home. The cushions are machine-pressed and vacuum-sealed only for the first journey, and once opened they spring back to full size and cannot be compressed again, so plan a move with the pieces at full size.
