Navy Blue Royal Star Jalsa on Carpet-Covered Sedir Benches

Wooden sedir benches about 16 in (40 cm) high with the cushion carry the Navy Blue Royal Star Jalsa, a carpet cushion bench majlis whose seats and backrests are faced in navy carpet weave with cream medallions. Bench frames come in fixed lengths up to 75 in (190 cm), so an L or U is built from several straight benches and square corner benches.

Cushions are pressed, rolled and vacuum-sealed for shipping and spring back to full size once you open them; they can't be re-compressed at home.

Your set ships in several boxes, typically two or three for an L-shape and more for larger layouts, and they may arrive on different days.

Every box gets its own tracking number, emailed as soon as your order ships.

Each shipment travels with a commercial invoice that lists the goods, their value, weight and materials.

Care

Covers unzip and can be machine-washed on a gentle 86°F (30°C) cycle with a mild detergent; avoid heat, which can shrink them.

Which majlis fabric holds up best in a busy family room: velvet, linen or something else?

For a busy family room, velvet in a mid or darker tone is the usual recommendation, while linen and plain fabrics feel lighter. The heaviest options are the kilim-style weave of the Sedir Bench line and the dense carpet-weave fabric of the Turkish Majlis line, and both are made only on a wooden frame.

Majlis backrests come in three styles: loose pillow backrests that lean on the wall, firm upholstered foam blocks, and wooden backrest frames with cushions set against them. Send a photo of the design you like and the team confirms which back it has.

Seat and backrest faces are cut from a thick Turkish carpet weave rather than ordinary upholstery fabric, and that weave is only made up on a wooden frame. How do fixed bench lengths fit your walls?

Frames are made in fixed lengths of about 47 in (120 cm), 59 in (150 cm), 71 in (180 cm) and 75 in (190 cm), each about 27.5 in (70 cm) deep. A longer wall takes two frames side by side, and a square corner bench turns each inside corner. Custom orders start with a layout plan for your approval.

I would rather leave a short gap at the end of a run than force a bench into a wall it does not fit.

How does a carpet-weave seat feel compared with fabric?

The carpet face is heavier and stiffer than upholstery cloth, and the wood beneath gives a firmer sit than foam alone. With the cushion in place the seat is about 16 in (40 cm) high, close to a regular sofa, and a backrest pillow brings the top of the seating to about 31.5 in (80 cm). Seats use high-density polyurethane foam — ask us for the exact density for your build.

I treat each cushion like a small rug stretched over foam, and the backrest pillows lean on the wall, so the seating stays against walls.

Navy, ivory or teal: which colorway fits the room?

The Acanthus Medallion carpet weave comes as navy and cream, the colorway in these photos, and as ivory and blue or teal and gold; the last two are photographed on their own page, the ivory and teal carpet-weave wooden seating. The pattern centers on a medallion framed by scrolling acanthus leaves, traced on the Acanthus Medallion pattern page.

Project photos also show glass-topped coffee tables with carpet inlays and cube poufs in the same weave; they are quoted only if you ask. Ask us about fabric swatches and a foam sample before you order.

Can the navy carpet-weave wooden seating be made as floor cushions without the benches?

The thick carpet face is only made up on a wooden frame, so this design always comes with its benches. For a frameless look closer to the floor, choose an all-foam majlis or floor sofa in a similar navy color family instead.

How many people does the listed navy layout seat?

The three straight benches in the listed layout seat about six people in comfort. The two corner benches add a little more room at the turns, and the design team can add straight benches if you expect more guests.

Is there storage inside the navy sedir benches?
